§ Mr. GrimstonThe total number of persons of all ages employed by the Post Office on 1st April, 1942, the latest date for which particulars are available, was 290,233–176,421 males and 113,812 females. The number of men who joined the three fighting Services during the year preceding that date was about 8,500, bringing the total since the outbreak of war to about 60,000.
