HC Deb 25 February 1942 vol 378 cc227-8W
Mr. Riley

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether permission has been given for volunteers to the Forces for overseas to form their own colonial units under the direction of their own officers; and whether any such units have already been formed in the West Indies?

Mr. Sandys

In the case of Cyprus, St. Helena and the Seychelles, Colonial units with their own officers have been raised for service with the British Army. No such units have so far been raised in the West Indies.
