HC Deb 11 February 1942 vol 377 c1541W
Sir T. Moore

asked the Minister of Supply whether any decision has yet been reached in regard to allocating a higher percentage of paper to the book publishers, in order to avoid the danger of a famine in the supply of books?

Sir A. Duncan

The allocation of paper to book publishers is a substantially higher percentage of pre-war consumption than the allocation to other publishers. I regret that I can hold out no hope of increasing it in present conditions.
