HC Deb 03 February 1942 vol 377 c1071W
Sir R. Gower

asked the Minister of Labour whether his attention has been drawn to the decision of the Edinburgh Conscientious Objectors' Tribunal to exempt Mr. Raymond O'Farrell, a ballet dancer, from military service in order to allow him to continue his dancing; and whether, in view of the irritating effect of such decisions on the morale of the fighting forces and factory workers, he proposes to take any action in the matter?

Mr. Bevin

The decision of the tribunal is not subject to my control, but I am taking steps to have it brought on appeal before the appellate tribunal in order that the most authoritative decision may be obtained.
