HC Deb 17 December 1942 vol 385 cc2103-4W
Sir H. Morris-Jones

asked the Minister of Health whether he is instituting any special inquiry by his Department into the implications of the recommendation in the Beveridge Report that a national medical service should be set up in the country as part of a social security scheme?

Mr. E. Brown

Yes, Sir. Considerable preliminary work in regard to the hospital services has been going on for some time, and the implications of the remainder of Assumption B in the Report are under consideration.
