HC Deb 17 December 1942 vol 385 c2091W
Mr. Thorne

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he can give any information in connection with an anti-aircraft shell that exploded on the pavement in Croyde Avenue, Middlesex, on Saturday, 21st November; whether any people were hurt and whether any property was damaged; and what was the cause of the explosion?

Sir J. Grigg

I have been asked to reply. The inquiry into the accident referred to in the Question has established that a shell was fired from an anti-aircraft gun as a result of the faulty drill of two men against whom disciplinary action has now been taken. Nobody was hurt but two houses were damaged.
