asked the Secretary of State for War whether, in the case of large camps of British prisoners of war, particularly under Japanese control, there are any chaplains attached to administer the last rites of the Church and to bury the dead?

In Germany and Italy chaplains who have been taken prisoner with the troops to which they are attached are usually allowed to exercise their ministry at large in prisoners of war camps. As regards camps under Japanese control, I have very little information. Four chaplains were captured at Hong Kong and there is some evidence that services are held in the camps where they are interned. Of the 35 chaplains who were
