§ Mr. Grenfellasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that horses at some Army remount depots turned out to grass are also being fed with a daily ration of corn and bran; and whether, in view of the need for conserving animal feeding-stuffs, the issue of corn and bran in all such cases will be stopped?
§ Sir J. GriggYes, Sir. To keep horses in a state of fitness for work at short notice and to restore as quickly as possible horses which have lost condition through hard work, a small ration of oats or bran is necessary. In such cases the feeding value of the grass is deducted from the grain ration.
