HC Deb 04 August 1942 vol 382 cc864-5W
Dr. Little

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he has given consideration to the complaint from a gentleman in County Down, brought to his notice, where there was a serious waste of public money in destroying the amenities of a residence on the sea coast; and whether he has taken steps to make amends and given instructions that such a thing will not occur elsewhere?

Sir J. Grigg

Yes, Sir. My inquiries into this matter are just completed and the report I have received indicates that the allegations made in this case are unjustified and that there was no such waste as is alleged.
