Graham-Littleasked the Minister of Health what is the present position of the Central Medical War Committee with 332W regard to the allocation of medical practitioners to various civilian and military services; whether the new committee under the chairmanship of the Undersecretary of State for Dominion Affairs supersedes in this respect the Central Medical War Comittee; and whether a practitioner, dissatisfied with the decision of the Central Medical War Committee, may appeal to this superior committee?
§ Mr. E. BrownThe Central Medical War Committee continues to act as a supply committee in providing the doctors required by the various civilian and military services, and is not in any way superseded by the Medical Personnel (Priority) Committee presided over by my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary for the Dominions, although in selecting the individual doctors it will naturally conform with any decisions taken by the Government on the recommendation of my hon. Friend's Committee as to the order of priority in which the demands of the various services are to be met. It is not intended that an appeal from a practitioner should be entertained as suggested in the last part of the Question.
