HC Deb 11 September 1941 vol 374 c327W
Miss Rathbone

asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that a number of detainees under Regulation 12 (5c) has been detained for many weeks at Leeds Prison under conditions only suitable for convicted prisoners; will he arrange to have these removed for internment in the Isle of Man; or, if they are awaiting further investigation which requires detention on the mainland, to the central or other schools, or a prison such as Brixton which is adapted for remand prisoners?

Mr. H. Morrison

Now that the number of these detainees in Leeds Prison has been greatly reduced it has been found possible to arrange for their detention in Brixton Prison while their cases are under review, and I have given instructions for their transfer accordingly.
