Captain Plugge

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty (1) whether his Department has made any review of the question of the speed of merchant ships, as recommended by the Select Committee on National Expenditure; and if so, with what result;

(2) whether any action has been taken in regard to the recommendation contained in the Twentieth Report of the Select Committee on National Expenditure that questions of design of new ships should be further investigated; and whether he can make any statement?
