HC Deb 09 September 1941 vol 374 c45W
Mr. Temple Morris

asked the Secretary for Mines whether his attention has been called to the refusal of medical certificates by some doctors in Wales for miners who have been ill for one day and who need such certificates to secure the payment of the is. per day attendance bonus; and what steps he is taking in the matter?

Mr. Grenfell

The general question of furnishing medical certificates has been raised by the British Medical Association and is receiving consideration by the Departments concerned. In view however, of the decision last week regarding payment of the bonus, the question of certificates has ceased to be important in this connection.
