HC Deb 09 September 1941 vol 374 cc42-3W
Major Lyons

asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to the lack of co-ordination between the air-raid precautions officers and the local authority, at a place of which he has been informed, as manifested in connection with exercises there on 28th July; and whether, in order to prevent any such occurrence elsewhere, as well as for the purposes of better example, he will circularise all authorities with directions on their duty in this matter?

Mr. Mabane

I have no reason to believe there is any lack of co-ordination between the local authority and the A.R.P. Officer (who is one of their officers) at Scunthorpe. The relationship between local authorities and their A.R.P. Officers is, I think, already fully understood and no further circular instructions are necessary.
