HC Deb 21 October 1941 vol 374 cc1636-7W
Captain Cunningham-Reid

asked the Secretary of State for War whether inquiry has been made into the fact that, though 7,000,000 yards of brown and white scrim for camouflage purposes were ordered to be sent to the troops in the East, a consignment of 7,000,000 yards of green scrim, designed for use in this country, was delivered; and who was to blame for the mistake?

Captain Margesson

My hon. and gallant Friend appears to be under a misapprehension. Both brown and green scrim were sent to the Middle East in response to requests for these colours. Instructions were given at the same time for white scrim to be obtained from India.
