§ Mr. Harold MacmillanThe storage and supervision of dispersed national stocks of timber are undertaken by wharfingers, acting as agents of the Ministry of Supply. I am informed that the men employed by the wharfingers at the storage yards are paid at trade union rates for their particular locality where such are in operation. The minimum rates vary with the locality.
