§ Mr. LawAs regards the first part of the Question, the Suez Canal is an area of operations and the publication of the Annual Return cannot therefore be allowed until the close of hostilities. As regards the second part, directors are appointed by the general meeting of the shareholders. Since the last such meeting, which was held in Pans on 3rd June, 1940, the seats of two British unofficial directors and, so far as I am aware, of one French director have become vacant through the death of the holders.
