§ Sir K. WoodThe rates of subsistence allowance for the Home Guard, together with those of part-time unpaid members of the Civil Defence General Services, including fire guards enrolled by local authorities, are under review. The provision for special constables is a matter for the police authorities concerned, who have power to pay either out-of-pocket expenses or an allowance in lieu.
