HC Deb 04 March 1941 vol 369 c785W
Sir I. Fraser

asked the Minister of Labour what officers or committees with adequate local knowledge is he appointing to judge which men shall be called up from the land and which shall be left because they occupy key or essential positions?

Mr. Bevin

In the case of agricultural workers who are not covered by the Schedule of Reserved Occupations, it is the practice to consult the county war agricultural executive committees as to which men shall be called up and which shall be deferred on the ground of indispensability.
