HC Deb 04 March 1941 vol 369 c790W
Mr. G. Strauss

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he can now state the total number of Italian casualties and prisoners in the Libyan campaign, and the number of British casualties?

Captain Margesson

According to my latest information, the number of prisoners of war taken is about 140,000. I have no information regarding other Italian casualties, and I do not think it would be desirable to give British casualties even when, as in this case, they are exceptionally light.
