HC Deb 04 March 1941 vol 369 c790W
Sir W. Smiles

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that there are several Czecho-Slovakian refugees who, through lack of knowledge of the English language or for other reasons, were not able to register their names or claims in time; and whether he will give instructions that, before settlement is made, another opportunity may be given to these people to register their claims and ensure an equitable distribution?

Sir K. Wood

I am satisfied that the fullest opportunity was given for the registration of claims and the final date which was laid down cannot now be re-opened.
