§ Mr. Rhys Daviesasked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that Albert Lowe, aged 54, of 18, Liverpool Road, Hindley, Wigan, was recently directed to return to the coal-mining industry; that he served in the last war for four years and was badly wounded; served nine months in the present war and was discharged on medical grounds after hospital 1702W treatment; that he was already employed on work of national importance when he received the direction; that he worked two days at the colliery and then fell ill and declared on National Health Insurance funds as incapable of following any employment; and whether he will withdraw the direction in this case and arrange for his return to his original job?
