HC Deb 09 April 1941 vol 370 c1578W
Mr. Culverwell

asked the Minister of Transport what progress he has made in his discussions with the railway companies regarding demurrage rates; and when he expects to reach agreement?

Lieut.-Colonel Moore-Brabazon

I am glad to say that, as a result of discussions which have taken place, the differences between the coal distributive trade and the railway companies, which mainly centred on the adjustments to be made to meet hard cases have now been resolved. I am assured that I can now confidently expect full observance by the trade of the demurrage regulations and their wholehearted co-operation in securing the quickest possible turn round of wagons.
