Mooreasked the Home Secretary to what extent at the present time the advice of structural engineers, architects and other experts, is being used by his Department to keep up to date as far as possible, the codes and regulations with regard to the protection of buildings 2143W against air-raids, and the erection of special air-raid shelters; and whether any special steps have been taken to obtain the latest data in this respect from Finland?
§ Sir J. AndersonThe branch of the Air-Raid Precautions Department devoted to research and experiments was expanded at the outbreak of war by the addition of engineering, architectural and other experts. In addition, the Department receives very valuable assistance from the Building Technical Advisory Committee. As regards the latter part of the Question, I can assure my hon. and gallant Friend that all appropriate steps have been taken.
