§ Mr. W. S. MorrisonOwing to the fact that payment for pigs is on the dead weight basis, it is not possible for payment to be made as promptly as in the case of cattle and sheep. I am aware that there has been delay in effecting payments in the area referred to by my hon. and gallant Friend. This delay is being gradually reduced and payments in this area in respect of pigs are being made at the present time approximately three weeks from the date of purchase. Every effort will be made to reduce this interval in the near future.
