Lucasasked the Secretary of State for War whether the services of the American Express Company are available for British prisoners of war in Germany, both for the purposes of cashing 1393W cheques and for the sending to them of parcels of books, clothing or foodstuff over 11 lb. in weight, as was the case in the last war?
§ Mr. Stanley:It has not up to the present been necessary to call upon the American Express Company for any assistance in these matters and I cannot foresee whether it may be necessary to do so in the future.
