§ Mr. Snaddenasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has considered the danger of fire by enemy action of crops growing, and to be stacked, throughout the country; and will his Department issue guidance to farmers on this subject?
Mr. BrownThe answer to both parts of the Question is in the affirmative. I discussed this question with representatives of the National Farmers' Union and Chamber of Agriculture for Scotland last week and I am in consultation with my right hon. Friend, the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries regarding the guidance which may be given to farmers on the subject.
