HC Deb 04 July 1940 vol 362 c1010W
Sir R. Clarry

asked the Home Secretary whether, with the object of obtaining greater care on the part of motorists during certain times of the day or night in specified circumstances, he will consider instructing the police who find a car inadequately immobilised to remove an essential part of the mechanism and leave a label on the car to the effect that the missing part may be recovered at the police station on personal application?

Sir J. Anderson

The police are already empowered to take this action by the provisions of the Motor Vehicles (Control) Order of 26th June. I am sending my hon. Friend a copy.
