HC Deb 04 July 1940 vol 362 c1024W
Mr. Culverwell

asked the Secretary of State for Air what flying services are now being operated by the British Overseas Airways Corporation?

Captain Balfour

Owing to recent political events, the air services operated by the British Overseas Airways Corporation have been seriously dislocated. The only services at present running regularly are those operated between Durban and Sydney via Egypt once weekly in each direction with flying boats, and between Hong Kong and Bangkok twice weekly in each direction with land planes. It is hoped that it will be possible to operate a number of additional services in the near future.
