HC Deb 21 February 1940 vol 357 c1382W
Sir C. Rawson

asked the Minister of Pensions whether he is aware that Mrs. Norah Choluton, widow of an acting lieutenant, Royal Naval Reserve, who was murdered by the Germans while serving as navigating officer on steamship "Rawalpindi, "has only been awarded a pension of £100 per annum for herself and £24 per annum for one child; and why she is not entitled to an additional pension, as laid down in the Appendix to the Navy List, of £200 per annum for the death of her husband in action?

Sir W. Womersley

It has not been possible in the time available to obtain the papers regarding this case. I will, however, look into it and write to the hon. Member as soon as possible.
