Major Lloyd GeorgeA mission is now in Turkey for the purpose of negotiating purchases of tobacco for the season just opening. Before its departure the mission was in close touch with the tobacco manufacturing companies in this country in order to ensure that the tobacco bought might be of the types best suited to their needs. To assist in the business of purchasing, treating and storing the tobacco in Turkey prior to shipment, the services of the British American Tobacco Company which already has a buying organisation in the Near East have been obtained.
