§ Sir T. Mooreasked the Minister of Supply in view of the announcement that wool is to be handed over to manufacturers at 70 per cent. over pre-war prices, what proportion of that increase will effectively be available for British producers of wool and Scottish wool producers in particular?
§ Mr. BurginThe increase which will be made in the issue price of wool is due solely to the increased cost of and charges on the replacement wool which will be received from Australia, New Zealand, and elsewhere. Arrangements have been in force for some time for the taking over 57W of last year's clip of United Kingdom wools, and these arrangements are not affected by the new issue prices.
