HC Deb 21 August 1940 vol 364 c1316W
Rear-Admiral Beamish

asked the Attorney-General whether his attention has been drawn to the circumstance of three solicitors being struck off the roll following conviction and sentence at the Central Criminal Court and Manchester Assizes in May and April, 1940; and whether he proposes to take up the Solicitors Bill recently passed by another place?

The Attorney-General

The Solicitors Bill promoted by the Law Society, which recently passed through all its stages in another place, deals with this among other matters. It is hoped that it will be possible to give it a Second Reading before the end of the present Session. The question of further facilities for its progress must depend on the amount of discussion which its passage into law is likely to involve.
