Mr. HudsonBetween the outbreak of war and 15th April, 1940, the borough councils of Stalybridge and Hyde received and dealt with 120 applications for allotments, which represented an increase of between 8 per cent. and 9 per cent. of the number of allotments previously recorded for those two boroughs. The percentage increase for Cheshire as a whole in the same period was 35 per cent.
