HC Deb 06 August 1940 vol 363 c44W
Mr. Denville

asked the Minister of Health the number of medical officers of health who are over 70 years of age; and whether any of such medical officers are in charge of the medical air-raid precautions arrangements?

Mr. M. MacDonald

Of a total number of over 1,000 medical officers of health in England and Wales approximately 83 are over 70 years of age. I am unable to say without special inquiry how many of these, if any, are in charge of any medical air-raid precautions arrangements.
