HC Deb 06 August 1940 vol 363 cc44-5W
Mr. Purbrick

asked the Home Secretary whether plans have been made that, in the event of the enemy effecting a landing in this country, factory workers, miners and the like, in the threatened areas, will cease work temporarily and be mobilised to assist the military in their operations; whether any instruction or training in such duties as would fall to them has been given; and whether such mobilisation will be made compulsory to all adults?

Sir J. Anderson

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister to a Question on 11th July by the hon. Lady the Member for the Combined English Universities (Miss Rathbone).
