§ Sir W. WomersleyI gave instructions last month for the withholding of this officer's retired pay of £143 10s. per annum which was last drawn for the quarter ended 31st March, 1940. I have no knowledge of the articles referred to. With regard to the last part of the Question, there was no embargo on the payment of British pensions to persons resident in Italy until that country entered the war.
