HC Deb 06 August 1940 vol 363 c58W
Mr. De la Bère

asked the Minister of Health whether, in connection with the requisitioning of certain hospitals in Droitwich for many of the services, he will bear in mind the national importance of Droitwich Spa as a curative treatment for members of the services who require this special treatment as opposed to the utilisation of these hospitals for purely convalescent cases not requiring this treatment.

Mr. M. MacDonald

In the recent emergency caused by the return of military casualties from Flanders, it was necessary to send some convalescent service cases to the Droitwich hospitals in order to relieve the pressure on other hospitals. In another emergency this might be necessary again, but care will be taken to interfere as little as possible with the normal -work of these hospitals.
