§ Captain WallaceUnder the financial arrangements in connection with the control of railways, the Government have agreed with the four amalgamated railway companies and the London Passenger Transport Board that rates, fares and charges will be adjusted to meet variations in working costs and certain other conditions arising from the war. This undertaking is set out in paragraph 10 of the White Paper (Cmd. 6168) which was discussed in the House on 13th February, 1940. The answer to the second part of the Question is in the negative.
