AndersonI understand that before the outbreak of war it had been the practice of many of the cinemas in Hull as elsewhere to reduce the prices of the cheaper seats for the afternoon performances. Recently the exhibitors throughout the country decided that in view of the reduction in their receipts owing to war conditions they could not afford to continue this practice. I have no doubt that the lighting restrictions must have affected the attendances and receipts, and on the information before me I do not feel that there is any action I could properly take.
