Friend's suggestion were adopted, there would in the winter months be some additional period of daylight for those who are able to shop in the afternoon, but such advantages as this would bring would have to be weighed against the fact that a number of persons, probably much larger, would have to spend a corresponding period of darkness at the beginning of their working day.
