HC Deb 10 October 1939 vol 352 c200W
Sir J. Wardlaw-Milne

asked the Secretary of State for War what is the number of the staff and the amount of the payroll at the Army Records Office at Foots Cray; in how many cases are members of the same family employed in the same office; and how many of the persons employed are already in receipt of pensions?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

The answer to the first part of the question is that on 6th October the staff numbered 1,269, and that the last weekly pay-roll amounted to £4,615, covering 14 hours overtime. These figures take no account of officers, of whom there are 67.

The answer to the second part of the question is 97, and to the third 159.
