§ Colonel Baldwin-Webbasked the First Comissioner of Works whether he is aware that it was originally intended that the boys of the Malvern School, now at Blenheim, should be rehoused in hutments newly built for them; and whether, in view of the new plans announced by his Department, Malvern School will be returned at the earliest opportunity for the use of the school?
§ Mr. RamsbothamI am aware that the needs of the school have called for temporary adaptations and additions at Blenheim. As I stated in my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Cheltenham (Mr. Lipson) on nth October, I am most anxious to provide alternative accommo1066W dation to enable schools and other requisitioned premises to be released. But the extent to which and the pace at which this can be accomplished must have relation to many other urgent war claims upon the available resources. As soon as alternative accommodation by way of temporary buildings can be made Malvern College buildings will be relinquished.
