HC Deb 21 November 1939 vol 353 c1051W
Sir J. Wardlaw-Milne

asked the Minister of Supply whether he is aware that the Kidderminster Chamber of Commerce are urging the necessity of adequate supplies of wool for the carpet industry and pointing out that, unless such are forthcoming, serious unemployment and loss of revenue in the carpet trade will be inevitable; and what action he is taking in the matter?

Mr. Burgin

I have received representations from the Kidderminster Chamber of Commerce in the sense mentioned by my hon. Friend. I understand that at the subsequent sale of carpet wool it was found possible to meet fully the applications of the Kidderminster trade.
