HC Deb 14 November 1939 vol 353 cc567-8W
Mr. T. Morris

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether he can state how much of the Merchandise Marks Act, as it applies to food, is to be done away with either under rationing or under control of prices?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

I am in communication with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries as to the extent to which Orders-in-Council made under the Merchandise Marks Act, 1926, requiring the marking of certain agricultural, horticultural and fishery products with an indication of origin may be affected by the rationing and control of these products.
