HC Deb 17 May 1939 vol 347 c1435W
Mr. Leonard

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many playing fields created through the auspices of the National Playing Fields Association and National Fitness Council are available in Scotland; and how many applications are now receiving consideration, together with the acreage and cost?

Mr. Colville

I am informed that 189 playing field schemes in Scotland have received or have been promised assistance through the organisations referred to, and that in 130 of these cases, playing facilities are already available. I am further informed that 27 schemes extending to about 165 acres and estimated to cost about £80,000 are at present under investigation.
