HC Deb 17 May 1939 vol 347 cc1432-3W
Mr. Benjamin Smith

asked the Minister of Transport what steps have been taken to give effect to the recommendation of the Baillie Committee in regard to the publication of Statistics which have a bearing on questions affecting competition and wages?

Captain Wallace

I regret that pressure of work in the offices of the traffic area licensing authorities has not made it possible to extend the published statistics of vehicles authorised under A, B and C licences on the lines suggested in the report of the Baillie Committee. I will consider the matter further when the burden of defence preparations in these offices diminishes.
