§ Sir G. Mitchesonasked the President of the Board of Trade what increase in exports to the United States of America has taken place since the Anglo-American Trade Agreement came into operation as compared with the exports to that country during the corresponding period a year ago?
§ Mr. CrossDuring the first three months of 1939, exports of United Kingdom goods consigned to the United States were valued at £6,885,000, representing an increase of £1,922,000 as compared with the first quarter of 1938. The corresponding figures for re-exports to the United States were £1,951,000 and £319,000, respectively. It should be borne in mind that exports to the United States were at an unusually low level at the beginning of 1938.
