HC Deb 11 May 1939 vol 347 c706W
Mr. Parker

asked the Prime Minister whether he is aware that the Dagenham girl pipers were seriously delayed on arrival at New York to fulfil a contract at the World's Fair; and, as their papers were all in order, will he inquire of the American Government what was the reason for this delay?

Mr. Butler

His Majesty's Consul-General at New York is being instructed to make inquiries and to furnish a report as soon as possible.
