HC Deb 11 May 1939 vol 347 c716W
Mr. W. Duckworth

asked the Secretary of State for War how many members of the different Officers Training Corps are affected by the decision not to use their services in the capacity of officers; and whether he has considered the effect of such an adverse decision on the Officers Training Corps movement?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

The decision is that no one who will be liable for universal military training will be eligible for a commission until he has completed the prescribed six months' course. Those who have served in Officers Training Corps should find such service of considerable assistance in qualifying for a commission subsequently.
